I usually don’t include city lights in my landscape photography, but by popular demand from my neighbors, I’ve made an exception for this one. This thunderstorm started developing over Spearfish, SD and slowly moved east as the sun was setting. What makes it remarkable is it’s almost perfect proportions and that there were no other cloud formations competing with it. It was illuminated by the setting sun and many cloud lightening strikes. I had to take almost thirty 5 second exposures before finally capturing a cloud-to-ground strike.
