I usually go out to area reservoirs and lakes looking for compositions that include ice as a subject. It was rather late in the winter when I captured this image as most of the ice had already melted, however on the eastern bank of this reservoir, there was a sheet of ice that had broken up and washed ashore. The cracks between the large chunks of ice make interesting patterns and seem to reach out to the rising sun.
